Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is a rising star in the world of politics. Since taking office in January 3, 2022, he has quickly become a prominent figure in the city's government and has made significant strides in tackling some of Atlanta's most pressing issues.

One of Mayor Dickens' top priorities has been to address Atlanta's affordable housing crisis. He has taken a proactive approach by creating the Office of Housing and Community Development, which is dedicated to increasing access to affordable housing and combating homelessness in the city. Mayor Dickens has also pledged to create 20,000 affordable housing units over the next decade.

Another important issue that Mayor Dickens has been working to address is public safety. He has implemented a new "Community Safety and Wellness Plan" that focuses on community policing, violence prevention, and mental health services. Additionally, Mayor Dickens has increased funding for the city's police force and launched new initiatives aimed at reducing crime and improving public safety.

Mayor Dickens has also been a vocal advocate for economic development in Atlanta. He has worked to attract new businesses to the city, including Amazon's new headquarters, which is set to bring thousands of new jobs to the area. Mayor Dickens has also implemented a new program to support small businesses and has committed to investing in infrastructure improvements to further boost economic growth. In 2022, Mayor Andre Dickens announced the opening of the Creative Industries Grant Fund—a joint program of the Mayor’s Office of Film and Entertainment and Invest Atlanta to assist the city of Atlanta’s independent content creators and creative entrepreneurs. In March 2023, this initiative awarded more that 125 creatives and businesses over $700k to ensure Atlanta’s creative industries thrive for years and decades to come.

In addition to his work as mayor, Andre Dickens is also a dedicated community leader. He has been actively involved in a number of local organizations, including being “a member of the Georgia Tech Alumni Board of Directors and is an alumnus of Leadership Atlanta, Diversity Leadership Atlanta, United Way VIP, and Regional Leadership Institute. He is a member of Kappa Alpha Psi, Fraternity, Inc.; deacon of New Horizon Baptist Church and has served on the boards of the Atlanta BeltLine, Invest Atlanta, TechBridge and the Center for Civil and Human Rights.”

Mayor Andre Dickens continues to lead Atlanta into the future with a focus on affordable housing, public safety, tech expansion, and economic development.
